Flash Fiction: At the window.

Sitting, she watched the snow drift onto a shriveled garden rose and waited.

As a child, tomorrow held sparkling promise: marriage, children, laughter, romance, wealth and she couldn’t wait!

Only one adventure to wait for now.

“Here again, Mrs. Thompson? I’ll take you to your room,” the nurse said.

Maybe death will come for me tomorrow.
